About the Division

The Division of Applied Computer Science has its roots in the Computer Methods Center, which was established in 1989 and then transformed into the Department of Applied Computer Science, dissolved in 2007. The Division members conduct research in the following areas:

  • modeling and simulation of engineering phenomena such as heat transfer and energy demand in buildings;
  • calibration, validation and verification of computational models of heat transfer phenomena;
  • application of modern computer technologies for finding effective solutions of engineering problems;
  • application of optimization methods, including evolutionary algorithms, in the problems of sustainable building;
  • modern ICT technologies for didactic purposes.

The Division offers courses on information technologies and computational methods in sustainable building.

Moreover, the Division members offer their expertise in the following areas:

  • application of modern ICT technologies in education;
  • modeling and simulation of heat and energy transfer in buildings.

For detailed information about research projects realized by the Division members, please go to Research.

For possible areas of cooperation with the Division, please go to Cooperation.
