]]> Ryszard Robert Gajewski received his PhD (1989) and then his habilitation (2007) from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Warsaw University of Technology. He currently lectures on information technology, applications of computer science, computational thinking and computer methods in civil engineering. As a scholar he spent several years at TU Delf in the Netherlands, TU Essen in Germany and University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. His research interests span two research areas, namely engineering computing, and e-learning (technology-based learning – TEL), in particular techniques such as the flipped classroom.

He has authored or co-authored 6 monographs and numerous articles published in leading international journals. He has also been an active participant in international and national research projects on TEL and has given numerous lectures on e-learning at international conferences.

He is a member of the International Federation of Information Processing (IFIP). His recent research interests focus on the use of solver tools in optimization.
