| Key Responsibilities: | The Faculty of Civil Engineering at Warsaw University of Technology is seeking a candidate for a full-time position of Assistant Professor (post-doc) at the Department of Road Construction Technology. The post-doctoral researcher will work within the OPUS 28 LAP research project entitled: “BIOBIT. Studies on the replacement ability of bitumen with bio-materials based on multi-performance compatibility analysis”. The work will involve conducting research on the physicochemical, thermal, and rheological properties of bio-modified bitumen, as well as analyzing the durability and aging resistance of bio-bitumen. Participation in the project offers the opportunity to work in an international research environment, attend prestigious conferences, and provides a strong platform for dynamic scientific development. |
| Requirements: | The successful candidate should have:
- PhD degree in civil engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering, materials engineering, or a related field, and an MSc degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline;
- Very good command of English (minimum B2 level); knowledge of Polish will be considered an asset;
- Scientific profile aligned with the field of road construction technology;
- Knowledge of rheological and chemical characterization of asphalt and polymer materials used in road engineering;
- Ability to analyze the properties of bitumen (including polymer-modified materials), particularly viscoelastic rheology, statistical analysis, interpretation of experimental data, and preparation of scientific publications in JCR-indexed journals;
- At least 3 years of documented research experience in rheological properties of bitumen and/or physicochemical properties of petrochemical (organic) materials;
- Experience in presenting research results at international conferences.
A person employed as a post-doc must have obtained a PhD degree in the year of employment in the project or within 7 years prior to 1 January of the year of employment in the project. This period may be extended by the time specified in the “Regulations on awarding funding for research tasks funded by the National Science Centre as regards research projects”. |
| Employment Conditions: |
- Full-time employment for a fixed term until 31 December 2029. Shorter employment periods are possible, provided they are not shorter than 24 months.
- Gross salary: approx. 9300 PLN/month, paid in accordance with NCN regulations for post-doctoral researchers.
- The position will be located at Warsaw University of Technology, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Poland.
